Carrie K. Artisan Jewelry

Branding & Interior Design

Case study

Carolyn Kan, who usually goes by Carrie, is a talented up-and-coming jewellery designer based in Singapore. She approached Qube for help in designing her first retail space. We jumped at the challenge to conceptualise a retail area that reflects her artisan techniques and displays her handmade jewelry to best effect.

First, we found we needed to rework the existing Carrie K. logo, which had been produced in a small printers shop in Florence. Staying true to the brand’s artisanal soul, we engaged Christopher Wormell, a renowned UK-based print-maker who had refreshed the London Royal Ballet crest. Christopher decided to redraw the crown in the Carrie K. logo by hand, and then convert the drawing into a digital format for easy replication. This new crown sits better with the typeface and is more robust in its applications across various mediums: anything from emails to glass engraving.

Next, we designed a whimsical wardrobe for the jewellery’s retail space, complemented with cut-out mirrors to better showcase the pieces on display. The wardrobe also anchors Carrie K.’s presence amongst other brand name retail areas from its location inside The Society of Black Sheep, a fashion store.
